wanting to know if there is a way to dim the l.e.d on the channel selector, way to bright for me at night. I have to run a piece of duc tape over it to reduce the glare...Just wondering if anyone has suggestions or if somethinig inside can be turned down. Does the l.e.d run off of a pot that can be adjusted? you guys know what i'm getting at. Any replies welcome. Have a great day. |

My S9 has a dimmer. I figured the S3 would too. |

I don't think there is a pot inside for the selector. What you could do is go to a craft store and get some of the colored translucent plastic and just cut a small piece to go over it much like your doing with the duct tape, except you will be able to see the numbers. If one piece does not work put another piece on till you get the desired brightness. The only problem with would be when your using it during the day, so you will have to make your filter easy to get on and off. If you have the wiring diagram you may be able to see if you could put a resistor or pot in the circuit also. WILDRAT MARK CEF674 CVC029

Some people used automotive tint on the 275 blue display. Blue LED's are AWFUL for night vision, hopefully the fad will go the way of the 8 track. My 257 display is now green Chad Chad CEF 433 HAM 212 not an ego thing, just keepin' the mods happy
