I want to create a simplex node in my town. I have a few questions.....I know I have to have an interface controller. 1. What radios can I use for this? I want to use my Yaesu ft-1802 and is capable for packet. 2. Am i allowed to set up on a 146.00 frequency? |

I am getting angry and echolink is starting to be BS. Validation should not take this long and not scanning a copy of license again. I think I will be setting up IRLP node instead. |

146.000mhz? I think the boys that chase satellites might get on your case. We use 145.700 simplex here and have no problems or complaints. I am in the Central California area. Try doing a search for "band plan amateur radio" Icom has one that is up to date. Marty |

Here it is the 7th and sent of validation info on the 5th. This proves the echolink project is flawed. I would recommend to anyone NOT to use this system. |

Funny I had no problems with validation - took only a few minutes. I'd suggest you send your validation again - it may have got lost. Echolink is a great system that I have used regularly to keep in touch with my mates at my old radio club back in Australia. |

AMAZING. Give them a dollar to match a credit card to FCC data base and validation went right through. Scan a photocopy and they dont get it and I know the transfer went through. Hmmmm. |

My validation took only about an hour, they used the ULS to validate me - no scanning or anything. EchoLink is GREAT, I guess, only once you get on it. Rich W4HEY |

Crackshot, I see you in Echo Link and have been trying to connect to you but it keeps timing out. Check your Settings. Or add my callsign to your FAVORITES and try clicking on me. Echo Link is good but the Copper Voice Chat is 100% easier to talk with other Copper Hams. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9CEF CVC#2 |

Crackshot, I had an Echolink node, simplex set up in my area, using a system called the "ULI Box". Look it up on the internet. It's just an interface box, I can't remember his call. It's a plug and play for Icom's. I had it on a V8000, though he has cables, instructions etc.. for others, Kenwood, Yaesu etc.... With a Diamond 2m base about 45' in the air, I had a 30 mile coverage. I used a voice modem with my cell phone for remote control, something you have to do if you're not at the station physically, it worked really well. As some things with me, I got tired of it and it came down. BTW.. when you do that, you'll have to set up another validation for running a server node, but like others, it was only a one day deal, at least that's the way it was a couple of years ago. |
