I bought 2 Iota 75 amp power supplies. All im running is a RCI2950 and a xforce 600. Im using a wilson 5000 right now, cause im waiting on my maco 5/8 to get here. The amp is conected to both power supplies, the xforce has 4 positive wires so i have 2 on one amp and 2 on the other amp, then i got 2 10gauge negative wires, one and one also. I have the radio at the lowest power setting, and the amp at max. And i don't think the power supplies have enough juice. If i turn on the echo or crank up my modulation more than 50% the power supplies start skuiking, the sound like mice. And the fans on them start twitching sometimes. I tried running the amp from just one power supply and that didn't work, the fans on the amp would slow down almost to a stop. SWR is not high, no blown fuses, no breaker trip, the house lights dim a little. Does anyone know what can i do to be able to run this thing full blast? Will the base antenna help? I need some help. |

Get a base antenna put up high and the problem will go away. Wondering if you twitch also when the fans twitch? I Wilson 5000 is a good antenna for a car! A torture device when not grounded and used as a base antenna with buko power! GET IT AWAY FROM YOU MAN! At least but it up on a pole or something 60 feet high. |

Stary rf ..BAD - wait till you get the maco.Remember the wilson is a quarter wave and uses the car as the other half of the antenna, right now it's trying to use your power supply via coax and chassis grounds |
