I have RGX Mini going from my radio to my SWR Meter and RG8X Mini going from there to my Amp. After the Amp I have RG8U going to the antenna and the SWR meter reads 1.2:1 across the whole 10 Meter band and a 1.5:1 on the bottom of the CB channels. I am sure this is not the best way to do it but I have had no problems with it at all. I would like to upgrade all of my coax to bigger better stuff but In the Jeep where its mounted it would be almost impossible for the coax that stiff the bend around to where it needs to go. So this is the way it will stay until someone gives me a good reason to change it. Now if your talking about just splicing a line from one to the other I don't think I would do that personally especially if the connection is going to be out in the elements. Are they both 50ohm feed lines? Or is one of them 75ohm and the other 50ohm? If its like that I definately wouldn't use two diffrent sections. Either way I would just spend the extra money to get one line that is long enough to go from point A to point B. Hope this helps! Outkast CEF 650

Actually if you choose the right lengths you can even use two different types of coax. Manufacturers do this to transform a weird impedance to one that the radio can handle. In general, though it would not be a good idea unless yuo really know what you are doing.. Simon Tech237 N7AUS

not ideal but, i have a 60' rg8u "jumper" from radio in garage up and across wall to other side of garage barrel connected to a 70'rg8x run to a99 0n tower. it works fine and has for near 3 years. aj |
