What kind of power output increase do you get from 13.8v to 15v? Does that big 'ol heatsink get any warmer at 15v? |

i spoke to one of the HORRIBLE sounding local 200gtl dx's this AM. it sounded much better then the last time i heard it. it's a newer one with 2290's in it. he was running it on a 20 amp PS. he got an astron 50 amper, with variable voltage. however, the variable voltage as measured on an external meter does NOT exceed 14 volts he says-if it EVEN reaches 14v. he is NOT happy with the barely 100 watts he is seeing, but in all honesty, it SOUNDS like a completely different radio after hearing it on the 20 amp PS vs the 50 amp PS. MAYBE that is a key to their performance-sufficient power to it?? i asked him about the receive-he said it's good....but too much bleedover. OK........ |
