I want to put vari - echo on a Cobra 29 nightwatch . The dimmer knob would be the best spot . Does anyone know how to wire the dimmer to keep the back lights on so I can swap the control knobs . The radio is mounted in a headliner so front mount of the echo knob is my only choice . |

I have never opened one of those radios but have a suggestion. Turn the knob to the brightest setting, unsolder the wires from the dimmer (remember where they go), take an ohm meter and test the dimmer to see which wires need to be tied together. If the dimmer shows resistance you may need to use a resistor. Are there more than 2 wires? Would it be possible to leave the dimmer hooked up and secure it inside the radio? If you left it in I would tape it up to prevent shorting. |

Great idea Moon . If there is enough room I'll tuck it away and shrink tube it so it stays set . Best part is I drive @ night so it's only set at about 75% . Thanks ! |
