sd1446 pills are good to vhf(50megs)but to get to 2 meters you would have to do pill substitution and retuning a nice little project but not practical.Bigbob |

Ya thats quite a bit of frequency difference i tryed out of couriosity to hook a kl203 up to 2 meters and it would not work which i did not think it would |

Yeah, the "pills" or transistors are what determines the operating frequency of an amp. Now if you have some laying around that were designed for 2 meters, then yeah you could do that. You would have to do a little retuning of the input and output of the amp, depending on what type you are talking about. Most likely, it would be cheaper than buying a 2 meter amp, especially if high power is what you are hunting. Then again, I haven't priced 2 meter "pills" so I could have just stuck my foot in my mouth.. |
