Skilletlicker, they will only come up in the find
if they're online in Echolink.

Skilletlicker,

I am on Echo Link now and will leave it on.

If you log into Echo Link I can talk you thru adding people to your Favorites. I should have it on for the rest of the day and night now.

Lon et al,

Thanks for all of the troubleshooting !

You'll be happy to hear that all of issues were stupid ones:

1) My mic was muted on the headset itself...Duh.
2) I was holding the space key, when I should tap and let go.... Duh x 2.

I'll see you guys on echolink again. I hope we'll see more of them there..

Ken

You all realize that if you have a firewall up that you have to open certain ports to make echo link work?

Skilletlicker,

I had port problems with my configuation that kept my Echolink from working. Below is a copy of another posting of mine.

Hope this may help!

----------------------------
WARNING TO ALL!!! If you have broadband phone service, you may need to call your phone company and have them talk you through the port adjustment process for your phone service. Now don’t shoot me if I don’t remember this exactly…UDP ports numbered 5198, 5199 and TCP port 5200 must be opened for the Echolink software to perform. If you have problems with the software running properly, go to the Echolink web page, Help Files, Troubleshooting and Firewall Issues. At the bottom of that page, in the text, is a link to Firewall solutions. Click it. That will take you to a diagnostic software page that you can run that will verify this conflict, and others. NOTE: it was not my firewall, but my broadband phone that was causing the conflict. The fix is the same for both potential conflicts.
