I just put extra channels in this radio. Channels are fine but the recieve was low and then all of sudden it was gone (recieve). All I hear is static in the speaker. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am a novice but I do enjoy tinkering.

Well,
Do you have audio when you transmit?
What kind of static?
Do you have to turn the radio "way" up to hear the "static"?
Did it lose recieve on the added channels only or all?

I guess my big question is, if you are hearing static, what makes you think your recieve is out? Static is recieved to.
Any way answer the questions and try to be specific and I am sure we can help you.
Good luck

The VCO is out of lock. You need to do an alignment to get it back to working order.

you may need to broadband L37 (or L17, i cant remember which.) anyway, its a dual can and they tap the coils about half way down. to broadband it, you must cut the traces to the taps and add jumpers to each full coil winding. this mod is very common, and there are diagrams of it all over the net. do you have a freq. counter? doing these mods without one is frustrating at best.
