What features would you like to see in an FCC approved SSB CB? Basically I'd like to have a Uniden Grant LT with these additions:
RF speech processor
Switchable wide/narrow filters for 10.695MHz and 455kHz
ALC meter or switchable ALC function on the existing meter
Frequency counter with resolution to 10 Hz
DIN sized chassis or remote mount control head

How about a Garbage Filter to remove all the idiots?? Serious tho I thinmk the remote head option is getting to be a must. Some of these cars today dont give much option for radios.

cross a stoner pro40 with an ARF2001 should just about do it.oh yea make it for 19 inch rack mount.
Other features i like are the hi-cut and lo-cut audio filters of the Uniden pro 810E
front panel rf power of the Galaxy 2547
LARGE meter of the galaxy's
1/8 inch stereo head phone jack for walkman type phones on the front
matching speakers tuned to voice frequencies
talkbak that can be used with an amplified mic.
or good enough speech processing that would not require a powermic.thinking mostly base operation, for a mobile add the remote head option.in the seventies someone made a remote head cb and i think it was an ssb unit.not the onehander units like realistic or audiovox but a true remote head radio.anyone remember who made it?

Oops. The Grant has a 7.8MHz first IF stage, not a 10.695MHz.
