746: Welcome to the Forum! I can't respond to your question(s), But I have a couple for you! You have two radios on my "want" list (not need ). How do YOU rate the 2517? I love the looks of that radio. I almost bought the ICOM746, but couldn't break the $1K barrior. Ended up with a 706. Are you pleased with the 746? |

Love the 746. No tuning the radio to the antenna except for 2 mt. Made over 400 contacts on 6 meter. Tha's where i stay most of the time on ssb. Have a 5054 in the car also. 10 watts fm an 25 on ssb. I have had my 746 for 3 years. Got it for $1,250.00 back in 2001.. 706 is a great radio, heard they have sold over 50,000 of them. Nice for base or mobile. Just a min version of the 746. |

I like the 2517. Had it for 4 years. Only thing i done to it was replace a light in one of the meter panels. I would rate it an 8 on the 1-10 .. |
