Hi CB BUddies, I made my rounds to some of the local cb shops today. We tried several radios to see how they would fit in my car. It seems all sidebands are out. I'm going to have to get one of the smaller AM radios if I want one to fit safely in my car. Cobra 19 ltd 2, midland 77-290, Cherokee cbs 500, etc. Which one is good? Which one can have channels added to it? Thanks CEF#350 Wendy |

Wendy, if you can't find that Uniden PC 122, go for a Uniden Pro 510 I think is the number. Help me out here guys. Wendy, I posted a question about this radio a while back, and the response was great, especially about what you are looking for. Maybe Lon might remember where that post is. He is our pro when it comes to the information overload. Keith in Atlanta |

Wendy, I have had a Uniden Pro 510 and they also make a 520 with RF Gain as well they are very good AM radios. But if SSB is what you want then you should take a look at the Magnum 257. It's a good radio and it's not too big, I purchased one from Copper about a year ago and it's great. Fits real good where my ash tray was in my Acura. It's about the size of the Uniden PC122 the length is a little longer due to the heat sink, but the rest is the same dimensions. Hope that helps, TomCat CEF217 |

I would go with the Midland of the radios you mentioned. Get a channel guard though. Next Tom is right on, the 257 is the Barry Bonds of the small radio market if you want to do it all. It sounds like the Uniden Grant 68 Elite is out but I am not sure you considered it? I put one in my wife's minivan in the center consul and it fit great. I really like this radio. Hey the 510 with a good tune is good also. Don't forget the antenna, what can you tolerate? lol....
