President Washington (UPD858)
Realistic Navaho TRC-457 (UPD858)The clock works
Cobra 138 XLR (UPD858)
Realistic TRC-449 (UPD858), have 2 of these
All these radios are as good as the day they came out of the boxes in the late 1970s, three even look like they have just come from the boxes, all of them are collectors items and are still being used to this day.

I know this may seem a little odd but I like trying to get my hands on the old telephone type handset cb radio's. I have a midland 13-886 that's in mint condition and I usually keep my eyes open all the time for the others.

In my area here in central California there are two nets that focus on old tube radios. They meet on channel 11 AM band on Friday night and channel 11 LSB on Sat night. Alot of these guys are amateur radio experienced operators who enjoy refurbishing the old radios. I don't have an old tube radio, but I sure enjoy the discussions.

Used to have a cobra 2000, and a 139. Frankly, i loved the 139 more than the 2000.

Hey Boxcar...I have a telephone type set with maybe...4 channels and an AM radio dial on it. It's green, says "Newport" and I think (cause it's not in front of me right now) the frequencies installed are the 54 Mhz flavor. I'll get more info on it when I get home. Maybe you could help me determine what this was used for. Or anybody?--

Right now None. I had to sellmine before leaving Australia. Used to have a Marconi Atalanta 16 tube receiver that would out perform any transistor radio I ever got hold of, a 10 tubes 2m FM transceiver (AWA Carphone), a homebrew 4 tube 2m SSB transceiver, a couple of ex-navy radios (real boat anchors), a FRG-7 and even a Radio Shack DX-160.

Looking for replacements..

Ab5az I know what you mean about the sickness. I just can't help myself I am a sucker for a old radio. I just bought another one the other day. My wife asked me is all that really needed. I told her why yes.
