I am getting a Browning Golden Eagle Mark 5 radio and amp in near mint condition for 300. Is this a good price for this dinosaur? |

i have never heard of the mark V. (5) i thought that browning closed after making the mark IV (4). if its a mark IV, and in good shape, then $300 is a good price. they are great radios from what i have read and heard. matt |

It must be a mark 4m I finally figured out from trying to find pics that they went to mark 4a but they were not made by browning according to this site I just left. I know it's 23 channel and has tubes crystals and the fella said Q's. I will see tomorrow when I go to his house. Mark |

Well this guy is a nit wit. He tells me MK 5, KV tells me they don't make a MK 5, so I figure it's probably a Mk 4, I go to his house and it's a Mk 3. So I got the xmtr, rcvr, amplifier, and the banana mic, and a maco preamp, and it all works, so in the end I was out the door for 370. Is this good or not so good. I will post pics later. Mark |

Wildrat, Ok, since you are asking I personally think you paid $369.99 TOO MUCH. I guess I always have been and always will be a TRAM person. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

wildrat, i find that the best way to know the "current market value" of a given piece of equipment, is to look it up on the auction site. (you know who) if what you are considering is at all popular; there will be at least one for sale each week. since the site is now very established, you can bet that the guy who sells the item has looked at the price of similar items and priced his accordingly. pretty tough to get a steal on there anymore. i think for a mark II, i wouldnt have gone over 200, but thats just me; if its in great condition, and you like it, thats all that matters. if you're in the market for another one, try to find a mark four with 40 channels. they are a real collectors item. lets see some pics! matt |

KV, it's a Mark 3 (three) It's in excellent condition. It has some dust on the inside which will be gone tomorrow. Lon you nearly scared me to death when I started reading that. I will likely end up with a Tram sooner or later. That is what is good about CB, the guys get into it and buy, buy, buy, then sell, sell, sell. The lucky ones are there to get a good deal, and if smart hang onto the treasures they collect. I have lots of treasures, ask my wife she'll tell ya about my treasures, of course she will call them something else. Mark I like the SSB on these old dinosaurs. |

great radio! if it were mine; i would replace all the electrolytic caps, and get a new set of tubes for it, give it an alignment, and you'll have a real talker. i love the tube audio! matt |

The Radio sounds and transmits great! Well it did before I put it in the Jeep, I have not ck'd it out at home yet, still getting the other guys cleanliness out. It has new tubes or that's what I was told, I need to check the caps, just after I blow the cigarette stinking dust out, and the stinking little no good for nothing pinch their heads off chijuajua hair out and whatever else is on the inside. Thanks Matt and Lon! |
