They have already made some of the best ones that could be made, starting back in the late 70s when the 40 channel radios came on the market. Keep your eyes open on EBay for the older President Washington W/858 PLL, President Madison W/ the flip up numbers on the clock, Cobra 139 XLR,Roybn 520D,Realistic Navaho TRC-457,458. All these radio are the same on the inside have very good audio and are fine sideband bases. Then the new kids on the block came along such as the Cobra 142 GTL, Cobra 2000 GTL, Uniden Washington, Uniden Madison W/the digital clock. Find one of these fine full featured radios and it doesn't come any better than what Uniden has been making for the past 27-28 years. I make this statement with 41 years on CB radio. Yankee |

The interest nowadays for the average consumer is headed towards the truckdriver, not the cb finatic. It's sad, I know, but less and less people areinterested in C.B. the way that you and I are. 73's,. RattleSnakeJake KSS90290 |

Yeah i know.. Anymore a good all around SSB and AM radio is far a few between to find.. A serious SSB operator will usually go with a ham HF rig and an AM only will usually use a good mobile AM CB like the cobra 29 or a export like a galaxy or the like...... |

Yote, I have had to send 6 of the Stonewall Jackson's back for people as they have a KNOWN problem in the Toggle Switch's and Wiring. Return it to the person you bought it from and they can return it for repair. The Man that Import's these radio's and ship's / sell's them to dealer's is in Erie, PA. And you may have to Pay the shipping to him to have the Radio Fixed. Sorry can't help you on the Meter's. Hope this help's. Lon Tech808 |

Hello All Tech. I am going to make a change on base stations I run a RCI 2980 now,Thinking about a RCI 2995dx and I know its a great radio, but I have heard that the 2985dx is good also. Now I know that the 2995dx is the best, but,,, with the built in amp. on the 2995dx would I get tvi or do any other interfer with anything else?but with the 2985dxI wouldn't have that problem unless I run a small amp. My 2980 don't bother anyone and I do have picky people in the the hood. But what I need to know if the 2985dx would be better because I don't need all the power the 2995dx have all the time.. Don't need no more than 125 to 150 watt. if I just had to run extra power. |

Well, I would suggest the 2995DX to start with as the 2985 DX is the "LOW POWER" 25 watt version of the 2995DX. And it is a Lot nicer to have everything in One Radio to start with. I have had NO PROBLEM's with my 2995DX getting into any Neighbor's or into anything in the House. Just my thought's. Lon Tech808 |

Problem with the 2995 is it has the linear inside and that pretty much limits what you can run behind of it if you are into running power.... But i must say it makes a GREAT driver for a big box like the KLV 1000P or better yet a 3-500Z tube amp!!!!! I personally myself like the lower powered radios so that you cna run pretty much what you want behind them if you do so please....... |
