Anyone out there running a chat room that we can use daily? It sure would make it easy to see who's online and on the radio, especially if skip is running or good ground waves. |

I don't know if this sounds goofy but you can get on yahoo chat and make up your own chat room under like an electronics listing or something. |

Saddletramp025, The Copper Forum already has the FEATURE that allows you the Member's to see who is in the Copper Forum at any time. Look to the LEFT of the Post's here and you will see Utilities Then you will see Users Online All you have to do is click on it to see who is on line. Right now as I type this there are 14 Copper Members Online. Hope this helps. Lon Tech808 |

I use my yahoo messenger as many of us do, there is a yahoo group something like buy sale 4 trade that I use too its got chat open all the time. That is a good idea though maybe I'll look into making us a chat room open 24-7 but open to all operators. I'll check into it.

Crafter, i tried yahoo msgr, it conflicted with a lot of my video editing programs somehow? I had to uninstall it. I just think it would be a good thing if we could have a live chat room. That way we could tell which freq. other people are on to try and make contact. |

Back when Coppers started the Chat room for the sunday net they said that they would consider,at a later date, having the chat room running all the time if things went smoothly. Well as you can see they have been working on a new forum for us to enjoy which I am sure has kept the forum master and the moderators real busy for quite some time. Even now they are probably spending alot of time working out the bugs so that we (the members) can enjoy it even more. And I am sure the transition was not without some mishaps. I am really impressed with all the hard work and time that they put into this forum, the net, and the sunday chat room and appreciate it very much. I would like to see a chat room open all the time also, but we have to give them time. So PLEASE be patient. They have always done what they tell us they will do. cactusjack P.S. Thanks forum master and moderators for the new forum and your time and effort. |

Lyn, Please don't misunderstand, I was just wondering..well maybe hinting... if someone out there already had a chat room on their site...(Crafter hint hint)..You see out here in the sticks after 10:00 o'clock at nite..nobody is on the radio, and the few of us on have to depend on long distance conversations. Some as far away as Kentucky, Alabama, Arkansas and Tennessee. It's not uncommon to talk 150 to 250 miles away late at night around here on sideband. As far as how hard the Copper folks have worked i can tell ya'..the last few nites @ 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning when you check to see the users online..there is 'ole forummaster..this guy must never sleep...LOL....seen Lon on there quite a bit also. I have nothing but thanks and the greatest respect for these fine people and will ALWAYS buy my radio gear from Copper...Hope to Talk to ya Sunday, I could hear you in there last Sunday but just couldn't make the trip back, maybe this Sunday..... Snowfire, If you signed on since we upgraded the forum software then you will not be able to log in to the chat room yet. The chat room software checks the old user database for names and passwords so anyone who signed up since the upgrade isn't in the old database. I am working on having the chat room software begin using the new database and hopefully will have it working by next Sunday. |

Yeah, leaves alot to be desired but for free I cant complain we had a good voice chat later me, tig and dx431. Works good during the week for a meeting place to shoot dx though. I worked long and hard on the links. Also rounding up a diverse group of amp techs and radio techs, and then good people like yourself to make a good group like the forum here. So thanks Bob. Oh and I did get the typing box fixed this is work you know. Now I know what the forumaster feels like all WORK no play! |
