I've been in cbing for a few years, and time has come to try my luck at SSB.I'am going to give the power thing a rest. My wife said I spent to much money in alternators. Anyway I have a 2510 and Iam going to order a IMAX 2000 from Copper. Will a 5 amp power supply be big enough? I have 20' of 2" galv. Pipe to mount the IMAX on. I already have 30' of RG213. Does the coax have to be a certain lenth? I read once where it is good to have multiple's of 13.6. The 30' was left over from cutting jumpers. Any help will be appreciated. |

1. The 5 amp supply will NOT be heavy enough. A 10-12 amp (constant) supply is the minimum that you'll need for a barefoot 2510. 2. The coax does NOT have to be cut to a certain length. It should be long enough to go from your radio to your antenna however

I would want a 15 or 20 amp power supply for that radio. You will get alot of different opinions on the coax thing, but I use whatever length makes the run and no more or less. |

only thing u might play with coax for is a better match. bulldog/369 cef#302 has a length of coax with a male and female end its about a 3-6 ft jumper and to talk on upper channels he has to use the jumper on lower he dont need it. so does coax length matter not always but some times protegee pig 1616 cef#301 |
