The V 5/8 is a great antenna. When tuned properly it will out do the Imax. However, the Imax is much easier to setup and tune (and keep that way.) Also the Imax is way more broadbanded and has a really flat VSWR across the whole CB band. |

Hey there Rattle Snake Jake, I had a Maco 5/8 here in SD till we had a wind storm one night (mini tornado). 75 to 85 mile an hour winds. It folded my mass in half and broke the top half of antenna off. Needless to say I'm using an Antronn 99 now. Good performance, but not near that of the maco 5/8. Don't have any hands on with the Imax 2000, but I would keep the Maco 5/8 that you have up. (Don't fix what ain't broke.) Anyways, hope to hear ya on the air. 73's, 226 / Mark |
