Is the channel guard unit from CBC International worth it on a Ranger TR-696F?

N4ari,

If you are getting bleedover from other channels, "YES" it is worth it.

It will give you up to 100 dB adjacent-channel Rejection.

I have installed many of these over the last several years, including several for Forum Members, and everyone has always been pleased with the results.

If you have problems with close people on other channels bleeding you, well worth it.

If you are going to install it yourself READ the INSTRUCTION's Very Carefully.

Some of the Caps you have to remove are very small and in very diffcult places to get to on different radio's.

I have installed these in my Friend's "IRONMASK" & his friend's radio's as in NY where they live it is very close to a major truckstop and they were always having bleedover from everyone.

Made it kinda hard for them to talk with 400 - 500 Truckers daily, talking a few channels away.

Just my Thought's.

they work but if someone closeby has a linear amp especially a high power one.like lets say 1000 or more it wont make a difference as it`ll screw up your rx anyway and even blow your fet transitor.i have seen this happen so i know...
