I have a radio here with a fet mod to it (2030) properly done. Was told someone tried to turn up the recieve on radio and now it will not keep a freq. I have it on bench and it will drift from 10.825 to 522.xxx on inline counter. I was wondering what this could be and how to fix it

Sounds like whoever tried to tune up the RX put the good old golden screwdriver in the wrong tuning cans most likely the VCO is all out of whack and will need proper alignment by a tech experienced in that sort of job and with the correct equipment .
