I noticed, for example, an older GE mobile has the same electronic board as an older RCA CO-Pilot mobile. Is there a site where the OLDER radios (1977 to late 1980s) are categorized into different radio manufactures using the same electronic board? This would give me some info for collecting various older CB radios. |

The manufacturer who built the radios you mention is (was?) named "Cybernet". They supplied a long list of brands, including RCA, Midland/Western Auto/Montgomery Wards, Hy-Gain, Colt, Kraco, Lafayette and others. Most of these brand names also hired other factories for other models. GE also bought from Sanyo. Midland also bought from Uniden, a long time ago. Hy-Gain made a few radios in Puerto Rico, but got out of the CB business before selling many of those. GE had a habit of using one model number for versions that came from different suppliers, but with a "suffix" letter. The "A" version would come from a completely different source than the "B" model of the same number. I started a database file of circuit board numbers to model numbers about 15 years ago, but never finished it. The pictures in Sams CB series made a lot of them hard to read. I wonder what a Google search for "Cybernet" would turn up? Never tried it.
