MAYBE THE REASON YOU WHERE BANNED IS YOUR ATTITUDE TOWARD HAMS AND HAM RADIO. I LIKE BOTH SITES AND ENJOY GOOD DEBATE. EVEN WHEN I DON'T AGREE WITH YOU OR SOMEONE ELSE, I CAN AGREE TO DISAGREE. FREEBANDER YOU OPERATE ILLEGALLY AND SUPPORT ILLEGAL ACTIONS AND IF QRZ.COM ENDORSES THAT ATTITUDE ON THE FORUMS THEY WOULD BE GUILTY OF THE SAME. CLEAN UP AND DO RIGHT, OBEY THE LAW! WHY CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG? |

Reasonable because you THINK SO. In a word NO. Regulation is regulation it comes in many forms, some more subtle than others. Haveing to have a license to talk on the radio is one. The next thing they will try to do is tax what you say through out the day. Email is under the gun now the goverment want to charge you for each one you send. Hi: Acutally the QRZ site is a personal/single owned website....saying that (since no one that uses the site pays for the use) then the owner of that site has the right to use it anyway they feel or let anyone in or keep them out as they feel..the owner of the site is paying for it not the public or any user. I think many times some postes in forums have an agenda to carry out for whatever reason and it ruins it for all. Many simple questions in forums by users are never answered and many times are only reverted back to some king of agenda. The QRZ site is good information and again 98% of all that use it are good folks.....the General public, Hams, CBers, and SWL alike can get good information fomr this site. I think instead of maybe thinking so negative one might think it is nice to live in America and have the Internet at all in which on can express the FREEdom of ones opinons and information that many many countries do not allow. 73 Don123 |

How do you have a house if you don't pay tax?How come you aren't sittin in the local pen now if you don't pay nothin?I don't agree with the government taxing everybody (you shouldn't have to pay them if you don't want to).I just don't understand how you have anything if you don't pay taxes.Do you pay your bills? How do you send money to the power or phone company?Freedom is a great thing but if you do not have rules then you have no organization.People slap a high price on every-thing to make a profit. If it wasn't for freedon in this country we probally wouldn't be able to do that. We'd just been in a state of poverty. |

Big Foot I read through a pile of QRZ postings and the big gripe always comes down to " The freebanders " Now if the grip was them being INSIDE 10 meters ok i'll buy that but it seems few of the postings i looked at involved that. To be honest it looked to me like these guys would be complaneing if you hung them with a new rope. Also well know is the 75 and 40 again a small but vocal group. The FCC is as i write finding and fineing these opperators and the problems have been vastly reduced ... o' yes is has you would be amazed what it was like a few years back. See again this has NEVER been a class war i will VERY quickly put in his place any ham who tries that junk on me and damn few do and im "ONLY" a general (LIGHT)forgive me but the light i find amusing. QRZ has some good people who as some have corectly stated are sometimes shouted down ...another reason you will find me here this forum still seems to have a very wide and intelegent group of people and i have no doubt will continue too. Think about this where else do you find CB and HAMS conversing and helping each other to this exstent? Bruce |

Freebander, and others. Most of what you see on ham sites relating to CB anything is nothing but a bash. CBers, and hams will bash each other till the end of time. I, being a ham, that use to be out there on 11 meters, would like to make a few points...if I may. 1. Playing around out of band is illegal period. that goes for CBers, and hams. If you choose to operate illegally, that is your business, and if you wish not to be bashed, keep it to yourself. 2. Why would you go on a website knowing how hams are and promote freebanding? That makes ABSOLUTELY no sense at all. Unless you just like attention. Also, even if hams make up a good portion of the freebanders, they would not advertise it on a HAM website. 3. Why start a fight about something there is really no need to fight about. If you choose to operate your radio illegally, thats your business. Why impose your habits on anyone else. 4. I am starting to dislike QRZ.com more and more daily, however I know in the back of my mind that I can start a site of my own. Anytime I get ready. If you dont like the opinions and views on a site, start your own. Then you can chose who posts messages, and the content of yoursite. What better way to make your point of view than to have your own site. 5. 10 meters. I keep hearing people going back and forth about this issue time and time again. As a ham, I would prefer NON amateurs stay off of the band. However, if my radio is not tuned to 10 meters, I wont know whats going on there anyhow. It really baffles me how hams complain so much about a band that is hardly used.(I feel the same way about freeband actually.) 6. If you find yourself getting QSL cards, talking around the world, homebrewing equipment, participating in contests, trying to do PSK31, and morse code, etc....I think you should just go get your ham license. I was one of those people, that is why I went and got mine The fact is, if maturity, and the ability to be curtious came with age, rules would only be an age restriction. Phineas

We have some of those too. But most of ours drive the old buggy pulled by the ole-horse. They have their own hitchen-post at the local Wal-Mart and run flea markets selling produce and crafts for their income. But they don't pay any income tax or property tax, social security,or medicare like the rest of us poor suckers do. The fed's don't even know they exist. They have their own community and no one knows what goes on there except them. Their religion exempts them from even having to purchase any kind of farm emblems for their buggys. Just don't try driving your tractor on the street without one. |

Don't have to prove it......the Amish work for many people around here hauling hay and other farm work and they ONLY work for CASH. If you ask them , they don't even kmow what income tax is .Anyone living in the South can tell you the same thing. We have a few break-away Amish who do drive cars and have electricity that do pay taxes and live a little more modern life, but there are just a few of them. It's common knowledge around here and the subject of a lot of conversation. |

No the religion dosent exempt them from from having a SMV sign on their buggy...It is required by law to have them...even for the amish. Amish are not exempt from any laws. All of the ones around here have signs on them. Also, The only tax that the amish do not pay is social security but that is only if they are self employed..If they have a non amish employer they do pay social security. No amish collects social security, Welfare, medicare, medicade, or unemployment. But as far as taxes go they have to pay just like the rest of us. Property, State and Federal income taxes, county, sales and so on. If the amish didnt pay taxes life would move at a trot on alot more roadways |

They may tell you that but to work for cash is the only way around it....They still pay property tax and sales tax. Only 2 things in life are sure......Death and Taxes |

I live in the heart of the Amish country in Lancaster County Pennsylvania, amish do pay sales tax! I ran a store for many years and all payed sales tax, they do not pay road tax to run their buggys. As far as property tax I am unsure of. We have many mennonites in this area and they pay all the taxes as we do. There are many amish owned and operated stores in this area that take credit cards as well as cash, so not all of their dealings are cash transactions. The amish have their own medical insurance and do not pay social security taxes as I understand it. |

I won't argue the point since i asked them myself,i know they pay sales tax since it's hard to get around. But they only work for cash money. They have no record of income and pay no income tax at all. As for medical insurance,if and when they go to a doctor, they pay in cash only. The Amish in Tn. are quite a bit different than others nationwide since they live mostly by old customs and don't acknowledge modern society. They will tell you this if you ask. |

right on grumpy....around here alot of the farmers hire amish to do construction work, roofing, ect. I find it hard to believe that the farmers pay cash for very much of their work because all of that is tax deductable. And believe me if a farmer can get a break, He'll take it |

Next thing you will read is it is illegal to pick your nose. I read all this C$%& about freebanders, Hams CBer's etc. I look at it this way. I'm not a Ham and will probilly never be for my own reasons. I do respect the area of radio frequency that Ham's use and stay off. I also feel that the Hams should respect that area that CBer's use whether it be in the freeband or true CB frequency. Hams...If the freeband and CB area is so repulsive,,,then why go there? Most Hams got their licence to remove themselves TO the land of the better than thou, but it must not be as good as it has been discribed because there is a growing number of licence holders returning to the land of the lowly CBer. Well whatever,,,stay where you belong and there shouldn't be a problem. My Opinion The Peddler |

Peddler Let me be one of these " better than thou HAMS" for a min First your using good reasoning to stay off the ham bands bootleging is just not smart. You say that we ( as hams) should respect for frequencys legal or not but the only frequencys that belong to cbers are the 40 channles the others belong to someone else and you are not respecting THEIR rights are you? As for repulsive its your band at least 29.6 to 27.4 are and how you use it is again your call. Now for many years i have every morning used CH 20 to talk to a almost 80 year old friend who beside being blown out of the water a number of times in WW2 spent over 30 years as a fireman and packed more into his life than i could ever hope to do but in 20 years of tring he just cant get a license and he has tried many times. So we use CB and do it with 4 watts at just past 6am 5 days a week. See i dont disagree with you REALY i have a lot of good friends who ARE cbers .... i bet some even have linars and run on freebanders frequencys but i dont care. As for stay where you belong hummm last i checked i still had a right to at least ch 1 to 40 ( and don't mater if im a ham or not) O'Well just MY opinion bruce |
