Hello to all my 11 meter and ham friend's and to my Tech friend's here on the Copper Forum. I pray all are doing well. If You are like me you are waiting for new radio's to be developed and for the band condition's to open up. It had been a while since I have seen any new post so I am asking for all our radio friend's here to give a big shout out and let us know how everyone is doing. I am doing better thank God and I pray the same for all of you. Here in my area we continue to have radio friend's to pass away and there are getting fewer to communicate with. I wish we could see the younger generation pick up our great hobby but they would seem to be that they are consumed with computer's and cell phone's and texting. They have lost the art to communicate by radio or in person. Oh well, I guess I have said enough. Give a big shout out of how you are doing and how thing's are in your area. |

Hey Charliebrown Same over here where I am , more and more folks passing and no-one new coming on. Cb has taken a big hit in the number of users but ham radio is not so bad. You are correct in saying the younger generation ain't interested in talking on radio anymore, heck they don't even TALK to each other when walking along the street they just message eachother. Folks laugh about the mention of a zombie apocalypse, think they need to take a long hard look around them. It's already happened, you see them walking along the streets every day with their heads bowed staring at a screen totally oblivious to their surroundings. HI ALL; I leave CB 19 on most days from the qth<home>, while I am on the ham bands,or PACKET RADIO. Yep NO one new, all are glued to those cell phones.I was with a guy the other day going to the VA hospital, and he had ordered a new apple iphone, asked him what one will cost, they come out in a month or so, price $1700<ridiculous>. I took a road trip a few weeks ago,had 2 meters on on simplex no contacts. Turned on the cb, over a dozen plus contacts, this was from INDIANA to ARKANSAS and back. REACT seems active on qso's on ZELLO, and passing messages on zello also. OK enough. CEF 795 |
