How much is it showing on the low frequencies. Unless you're using a dummy load to check it with you may have a bad mismatch on your antenna for the high frequencies. That would make it show more watts on most watt meters. These radios are generally tuned and aligned to operate best around the CB band. Yours might need to be aligned but if it's showing the same watts from channel 1 to channel 40 it's probably ok. |

The low 26.000 it's showing 8 watts mid 26.000 doing 10 watts channels 1-40. 27.000 doing 30 watts upper 27.900 doing 35 watts. Channel 1-40 on the cb band 28-30 watts. I have a galaxy 66 that has about the some channel as the saturn. It will do a little less wattage going from band to band but only 2 or 3 watts on the same antenna same coax as the saturn. I don' t thank it in my antenna. I beleave it's in the saturn. Thanks |

usually max. power is set at ch .20 thats mid band if someone set it higher then MAYBE you would see lower numbers below ch.1.even if it was tuned on ch.20 it probaly will drop slightly going below ch.1. depending how far ya go below ch.1. for ths reason i dont go below 27915 or much higher than 27555. dale/a.k.a.hotrod cef426 cvc#64 454 [dx numbers] 38lsb

How would I go about tuneing this saturn to get the wattage up some on the lower bands? We talk on the lower bands to get away from skip when it takes over 1-40? Who ever tuned this radio set it up to do more wattage on the higher frequencies. Thanks. |

check out the output on a dummyload . to make sure of this cause there usually tuned on ch20 mid band [cb] or close to it.coppers carrys dummyloads. after using this method id take it to a cb shop and get it re-aligned to ch.20 . this will balance it ot with only a slight drop going below or above the normal 40 dale/a.k.a.hotrod cef426 cvc#64 454 [dx numbers] 38lsb

Dale I checked it out on a dummyload on ch20. I'll have to take it to cb shop to get it re-aligned. I don't talk on the lower frequencies that much but I'll get fixed in case I sell the radio. I will not sell something that's not right. Thanks for the help, Dale and Scrapiron63 |
