Too new to tell I would think although I may just have to try one to see what it can actually do.

I am also wondering about the Ranger 2970N2. The first thing I see is that copper has a really nice price on the rig. Does anyone know if the Mods you can get from copperelectronics.com when buying a radio like this one are comparable to say like other mods on the internet. I can sure see a more reasonable price from copperelectronics.com than anyone else on the net selling this radio. All input is welcome.

After the Expand option here are the areas that the Copper Tech will align.

• RX (Receive) alignment per manufacturer specifications
• TX (Transmit) alignment per manufacturer specifications
• PLL Synthesizer alignment per manufacturer specifications

NOTE!
The Copper Tech will not do or perform any modification that would VOID your factory Warranty on the radio.

Hope this help's,

Hi, I just got my 2970n2 from copper, nice radio. Upon hooking it up and checking all keypad buttons/functions I notice the roger beep button is not working? When I press it nothing lights up on the face of the radio? I have not tested it on transmit yet. I have to go to the car and hook it up for that. Please help
Thanks,
Mike

I have tested the radio on transmit and just as the thought the roger beep function is not working on any band or mode of operation? I hope I don't have to send the radio back to Ranger for repair. Note all other functions of the radio seem to be working fine so far. All suggestions are welcome.
Thanks,
Mike

Well I have to ship the radio to Ranger for repair. Does anyone know if Ranger put my radio back into the factory specs? I had Copper do the performance and alignment to my radio, I hope it stays like that.

i bought one of the 2970N2's back around Feb. of this year, when i got it it was dead keying 5 watts all the way down and 45 watts all the way up and was swinging 325 watts on ssb and am,peak and rms on my dosy,i set the dead key at 50 watts with the varible all the way down and it sounded a lot better on am,it got a little to hot at 325 watts,so i backed it down to 250 watts and it does fine now and no one even noticed the difference after i turned it down.

I sent it to a Ranger repair facility. The problem was addressed. I have had no other problems with this radio. Timberwolf455 do you have the adjustment locations for this radio? I was thinking that they would be the same as a 2950dx since I can't find any info on this radio online.
