I am trying to get back into the hobby and forgot from my past experience that you can't key the mic with no antenna attached. I did this to a Cobra 29 XLR. It still seems to come on and work okay, which a CB mechanic told me that is a sign that it's okay. I've had other people tell me that I trashed it? Who do I believe? |

You could probably key it down all day with no antenna. Its a short that causes trouble. KEEP IT REAL! Kenny cef491(27.115lsb) 2sf491(27.555usb) Indiana

Now try it with an antenna and try for a contact, if you get one you know it's working fine. just makes sence. George CEF#Ø476 KI4NBE Amateur Extra HAM#Ø181 CVC#ØØ14
