Ive got a Midland 77-250C Power Max mobile that will not TX. I tried the mic on another Midland and it worked fine. Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks! |

One of my 250C's had no transmit awhile back! Found the final had been cooked by an improper power mod! Reverse engineered the wreck, updated the final, and it works great! Currently have an original 250, 250a, and a 250c. Oh, make sure the mic gain is all the way clockwise and that the pot is tight! Seems Midland used a cheaper pot in the c's than the previous versions, and they wore out quicker! CEF # 949 CEF Ham # 272

It is funny, noboby liked the 250's, but for some reason, in the last 4 or 5 months, they have been going for $40.00 or more on fleabay! Before x-mas, I purchased several for less than $15.00, most under $10.00. 2 ended up just being parts units! Have gone through a couple, updated the finals, and sold them to some guys I work with! Just wondering if there is some trick that I have not found to make them even better???? CEF # 949 CEF Ham # 272
